One of the best walks in the world, Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek is an amalgamation of adventure and cultural exposure. Moreover, this trek delivers the best of what the Annapurna region has to offer- the soaring spires, and varied landscapes from arid to the lush green forest to centuries-old intriguing cultures.
The Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s best long-distance trekking excursions, which traversing 205 to 210 kilometres over 17 days. Trekkers will spend 13 days going through communities inhabited by Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi people for centuries. Mountain villages welcome trekkers with warm hospitality and traditional customs. This hike takes you through vivid rhododendron forests and to the pinnacle of Poon Hill, where you can see amazing sunrise views.
The highest point of the hike is Thorong La Pass, which stands at 5,416 meters. This crossing provides breathtaking views of key peaks including Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna II, III, and IV, Gangapurna, and Tilicho. The famous Muktinath Temple unites Hindu and Buddhists devotees for prayers.
The Annapurna Round/Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek, the adventure begins in the subtropical valleys of Jagat and ends at the serene city of Lakes- Pokhara. Throughout the journey, you walk with the majestic vistas of Annapurna massif in the background, while you meander through verdant forests and terraced fields. Another highlight of the journey is traversing through traditional and ethnic towns of the Annapurna region, exploring the monasteries that adorn these towns. Along with a rich cultural experience, you get the thrill of adrenaline rush pumping through your veins when you walk through narrow paths beside the steep hills that directly fall to Kali Gandaki Gorge.
The Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek is also known as Annapurna Round Trek which includes the trail path start from Besishar , Dharapani, Chame, Piasng Manang, Thorong Phedi, Muktinath , Tatopani , Ghorepani , Poonhikk, Jhinu Danda and ends at the beautiful city Pokhara.
This trek begins with the landing of trekkers in Tribhuwan International Airport . One of HHT representative will recieve you from airport and take you to the best comfortable Kathmandu Hotels. Next day, we will start our Annapurna Round Trek journey by Leaving from Kathmandu, your adventure takes you on a scenic drive to Besisahar and then drive to Dharapani by local jeep. Next morning after having the warm breakfast we will start our hiking journey to Chame, Upper Pisang, Ngawal allows you to enjoy the region’s rich cultural legacy while travelling through picturesque towns and historic monasteries.
As you rise to Manang, have a day to acclimatise and enjoy the breathtaking mountain vistas. Continue on the trail ascends to Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi, the basis for the trek’s most difficult part is for the exhilarating crossing of Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17769ft). From the summit, revel in panoramic vistas before descending to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site where the both Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrims visit temple to pray. You can witnessing water flow from 108 stone spouts and two kundas that are thought to be able to atone for all of your sins.
Next day after breakfast , we drive back to Pokhara, on the way to Jomsom you can visit Kagbeni Dham where 2 holy rivers meet together and are very popular for Pirtri Tarpans and Kali Gandaki River Bathing. And, Marpha , an apple orchards and traditional architecture of a Marpha Village. A drive to Tatopani ,The hot springs at Tatopani provide a perfect place to relax and soothe tired muscles after days of trekking.
The excursion continues to Ghorepani Poonhill . After the early hike to Poonhill , a early sunrise rises on the top of Mount Dhaulagiri, mount Annapurna I,Mount Machhapuchhre, Mount Hiunchuli, Mount Nilgiri, and many more and spend the most memorable time at Poon Hill. After spending some wonderful time at this perspective, you’ll return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast. Then you will trek to Tadapani, and desending to Jhinu Danda which is famous for its hot spring shower . Taking a bask on hot spring we continue our journey to Pokhara, the city of Lakes.

The spring season, which falls from March to April, is another peak season for trekking in Nepal. The weather is warm as it invites the summer season simultaneously. In this season, flowers fully bloom, and trails are green. In general, it offers spectacular weather to view the mountains.
In the same way, September to November is the autumn season in Nepal. During this time, the sky is clear, and days are warm. Thousands of trekkers opt for trekking in Nepal during this time of the year due to favourable weather.
One of our office representatives will meet you at TIA and escort you to your designated hotel. Once there, we will briefly review our travel plans. Afterward, you are free to spend the rest of the day as you wish.
Today we will take a Car/jeep to Besi Sahar. The ride is full of the scenery of villages, rivers, and hills. After reaching Besi Sahar, we will officially start our journey to Jagat through Bhulbule, Ngadi, and more villages. The approach to Bhulbule offers spectacular views of Himalchuli and Ngadi Chuli. As soon as you reach Bhulbule, you enter the Annapurna Conservation Area, which is also a checkpoint of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). After a few more of a drive through the rugged path, we reach Dharapani where we will be spending the night.
We have another long day ahead. We leave the town of Dharapani and walk past Bagarchap and Danaque. The trail climbs steeply from Danaque to Timang and then continues through a forest of pine and fir, past the traditional village of Thanchowk to Koto, at the junction of Nar-Phu Valley. We follow the trail decorated with large mani walls, prayer flags, stupas, and chortens, before stopping at Chame. The journey up here is not easy but the stunning views of Annapurna II and other snow-capped peaks will make it worth it.
After breakfast in Upper Pisang, you will ascend to the scenic upper trail toward Gyaru and Ngawal. This is one of the most interesting sections of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, but it also requires little effort to climb the trails above the valley into thinner mountain air.
The climb toward Gyaru is the main challenge of the day. The trail rises through long switchbacks, and the ascent can feel demanding, especially under the morning sun. However, after reaching the top you will rewarded with alluring views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Pisang Peak, as well as the Manang Valley.
Gyaru is a beautiful highland village with stone houses, prayer flags, and strong Tibetan Buddhist influence. It is also one of the best viewpoints on this part of the route.
From Gyaru, the trail continues across open alpine terrain toward Ngawal. The walking becomes steadier, with broad mountain views, quiet trails, and a stronger sense to enter the high land of Manang village.
Today , after having breakfast we start our journey to most beautiful and waited part of journey called Manang Village . We descend to the path from high village to across the upper view of Manang village. On the way you can see the dier and rockier path on the trail before reaching to Manang. You can also see theancient monasteries and stone houses, you will reach the charming Manang village after a rewarding 6-hour hike. This scenic village is situated in a broad valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks. You can explore the cultural treasures of the village, such as ancient monasteries, stupas, and prayer wheels.
Today is a rest day in Manang for acclimatization to high altitude and preparation for the challenging trek ahead. Utilize this time to explore the area, taking short hikes to nearby viewpoints for panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Gangapurna Glacier and Lake / Ice Lake. Visit the Himalayan Rescue Association’s clinic in Vraga village to understand altitude sickness and proper acclimatization techniques. Additionally, discover the village’s cultural attractions, such as ancient monasteries, stupas, and prayer wheels, to gain insights into the local way of life.Rest and relax, ensuring proper hydration and avoiding overexertion to prevent altitude-related illnesses.
We depart from Manang and make our way to Yak Kharka. The path steadily ascends through Tengi and Gunsang, moving out of the Marsyangdi Valley and into the Jarsang Khola Valley. The greenery gets considerably sparse as we move closer to Yak Kharka.
Today’s trek takes you from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi, the base camp for crossing Thorong La Pass. The trail ascends gradually, passing through alpine meadows and barren hillsides. You’ll cross several streams and traverse rocky terrain as you make your way towards Thorong Phedi. As you ascend, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including Thorong Peak, Khatung Kang Gudang, and Syagang. Around 3 to 4 hours of uphill walk you arrive at Thorong Phedi, a small settlement situated at an altitude of around 4,450 meters.
Today, you’ll be crossing Thorong La Pass, the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit as well as the one of the world highest passes. It’s important to start early in the morning to take advantage of favorable weather conditions. You’ll have to wake up at Thorong Phedi at 3 or 4 am. The trail leading to the pass ascends steeply and has switchbacks and rocky terrain. As you ascend, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and the Himalayan peaks extending to Tibet in the north. It takes about four hours to climb to the pass, which is marked by chortens and prayer flags. Once you reach Thorong La Pass, situated at an altitude of around 5,416 meters, take some time to celebrate your achievement and enjoy the panoramic views before beginning your descent towards Muktinath.
Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. In Tibetan, it is called Chumig Ghasa, meaning “Hundred Waters”. Explore 108 stone sprouts through which flows the icy cold water of Kali Gandaki and the eternal flame in Muktinath
Today we travel along the Kali Gandaki River, the world’s deepest gorge, toward Tatopani, passing through Kagbeni, Ekle Bhatti, Jomsom, and Marpha, which are noted for apple orchards and traditional whitewashed villages from Nepal’s erstwhile “Forbidden Kingdom.”
We proceed over Kalopani (excellent views of Annapurna I) and Ghasa (Upper and Lower Ghasa), then descend through Kopchepani as the landscape changes from arid Mustang terrain to lush green woods with views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
After 4 to 6 hours of driving, we will arrive at Tatopani. After arriving, you can let your tired feet and tight muscles relax.
The day begins with easy flat walking, which feels good on tired legs, before the path climbs uphill. Massive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks emerge over the woods at every bend, causing trekkers to stop frequently to take photos.
The trail winds through dense rhododendron forests, which blossom with stunning red and pink blooms in the spring. Small birds chirp and flit between branches, as monkeys swing around hunting for fruit and seeds.
After hours of strenuous hiking, you’ll reach the quaint mountain village of Ghorepani.
This day will be very remarkable since you will hike early morning to Poon Hill, which reaches a height of 3,210m. If the weather is clear you’ll enjoy the lovely sunrise view over majestic peaks including as Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Annapurna I,Mount Machhapuchhre, Mount Hiunchuli, Mount Nilgiri, and many more and spend the most memorable time at Poon Hill. After spending some wonderful time at this perspective, you’ll return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast. Then you will trek to Tadapani, which will take approximately five hours. Tadapani is a picturesque village located at a height of 2,610 meters.
we ascend down following the same path; the path gets steeper as we drop down toward Jhinu Danda. We come across a sheep farm and enjoy the lush forest of oak rhododendrons and bamboo and the eye-catching village lifestyle, Finally,You reach Jhinu Danda which is continuously attracts thousands of visitors. It is famous for its natural hot spring,where you can relax and enjoy the therapeutic warmth of natural hot springs after a long trek. You spend the night there.
Today marks the end of your journey as you take a bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Along the way, you will witness breathtaking natural scenery. Once you reach Kathmandu, rest for a while in the hotel and head to the city’s core area to buy souvenirs and have dinner. Finally, you can end your day by resting in the hotel.
On the other hand, if you choose to fly, you’ll take a short 25-minute flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu, which cost USD 95 per person where you’ll get to enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas from above.
In the evening, you’ll join the farewell dinner hosted by Hike Holiday Treks, where you’ll receive your achievement certificate in recognition of your trekking journey
Today marks the end of your journey as our representative. You will depart through Kathmandu airport 3 hours early to your flight time. Hope you enjoy your trip.
