The Pikey Peak trail is well maintained and thus in good condition. It is an easy and short trek for the beginners with a small amount of walk per day. However, with proper preparations and guidance from our trained guides, you will complete your 9-day hiking adventure.
Building your stamina by moderately strenuous exercises a few months before your trek will prepare you for the mountain adventure. A balanced diet and endurance exercises like jogging, swimming, cycling, and long hikes will help you achieve the proper fitness required for the Pikey Peak trek.
If you do long hikes before your Pikey Peak trek, you will better understand the terrains and gain experience tackling difficulties in mountainous regions. But this is optional. If you are fit and have enough stamina, you will complete your hike to the Pikey Peak without significant hardship.

Trekking is also possible throughout the winter and monsoon seasons. These off season time offer a more peaceful experience with fewer trekkers. Our representative will meet you at the airport and bring you to the Hotel. At the hotel, you shall go over your trip details while checking in and if you have leisure time afterward, you may visit around the streets of Thamel and experience the galore of the city.
Today we drive to Dhap and our journey continues as we officially start our trek to Japre, another charming village full of captivating allure.
The path again follows narrow and rugged paths through tiny villages and verdant woods. The trek is a little tough but with the amalgation of breathtaking scenery and local interaction, it shall be a rewarding experience.
This morning’s walk includes heading towards Pikey Peak Base Camp. We take leave from beautiful Jhapre and follow the trail of forest and pastures which will grant you stunning vistas of surrounding peaks.
With a big day ahead of us, we start our climb to Pikey Peak. We climb steeply up to Pikey Peak and are rewarded at the top by breathtaking 360-degree views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu, along with other giants. After admiring the scenery, we will descend to continue our journey to Loding. Another beautiful stopover for an incredible vista of the Everest massif.
We bid farewell to Loding and made our way towards Junbesi. We wake early in the morning to witness a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas and gush over the majestic scenery of Everest including Dhaulagiri and Kanchenjunga, a few of the highest mountains in the world. Explore the Thubtenchoeling Monastery and immerse yourself in the spirituality of the region. Wonderful vistas keep us company while we trek through the rugged terrain of Junbesi Valley.
Trek through gorgeous landscapes, cross rivers, and see stunning views of Mt Everest, Chamlang, and Makalu. Visit the old Taksindu Monastery and soak up the tranquilly.
Depart from the main trail and follow a wonderful way to Phaplu. Enjoy the picturesque splendour of the forests and pay a visit to the breathtaking Chiwong Gompa, perched on a rock. At Phaplu, we will indulge in the greatness of Sherpa by participating in cultural programs and tasting delicious local cuisines.
