Here is a brief description of the trek:
Starting from the town of Nayapul or Phedi, the trek typically takes around 7-10 days to complete, depending on the pace and itinerary chosen. The trail passes through picturesque villages like Ghorepani, Tatopani, and Marpha, providing ample opportunities to interact with local communities and experience their culture.
One of the highlights of the trek is reaching the village of Ghorepani, famous for its panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges, especially during sunrise from Poon Hill. The trek also includes crossing the Kali Gandaki River gorge, one of the deepest in the world.
The ultimate destination of the Jomsom Muktinath trek is the sacred temple of Muktinath, located at an altitude of 3,800 meters. Muktinath is a significant pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, with its 108 water spouts and eternal flame.
From Muktinath, trekkers typically descend to the town of Jomsom, famous for its apple orchards and stunning views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri peaks. The trek concludes with a flight or drive back to Pokhara, where trekkers can relax and reflect on their journey.
Overall, the Jomsom Muktinath trek offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and spiritual significance, making it a memorable adventure for trekkers of all levels.
Our group representative will be waiting for you at Tribhuvan International Airport’s arrival terminal with your nameplate. The representative will greet you and transport you to your Kathmandu lodging facility. As you check into the hotel, our delegate will explain your plans for the day.
A sightseeing tour in Kathmandu includes a guided tour of the city’s art, historical, and cultural sites, which have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Today, after breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up for the day’s excursion. You will begin at Kathmandu Durbar Square, a documented royal house from the sixteenth century under Malla rule. The castle is a massive complex that includes a royal house, courtyards, and temples. We explore the royal residence’s environs and pay a visit to its historical centre. After exploring the royal house, we proceed to Swayambhunath Stupa, a massive stupa built on a peak surrounded by various Buddha sculptures and religious organisations. We next proceed to Pashupatinath Temple, a seasoned Hindu temple with numerous tiny temples and sculptures dating back to ancient times. Finally, we travel to the Boudhanath stupa, a massive stupa built on a three-layered Mandela. We explore all of these outstanding legacy locations before returning to your inn.
Today, after breakfast, your guide will pick you up for an overland trip to Pokhara. The automobile travels down the Prithvi Highway, which is rich in Nepalese countryside scenery. Most of the time, we will drive along the Trishuli River, taking in the stunning views of terraced agriculture, traditional settlements, and lush slopes. We even pass a boating location on the way to Pokhara. After around seven hours of driving, we arrive at Nepal’s great tourism centre, Pokhara. We settle in at the inn, freshen up and ready for a relaxing sightseeing of the lakeside Pokhara. Lakeside Pokhara is a lovely place to be, with its clear air, tranquil lake water, and mountains. In the evening, we returned to our hotel.
You will be transferred to Pokhara Airport in the early morning to board your flight to Jomsom. In about 30 minutes, you’ll be in Jomsom. Jomsom is a picturesque community with numerous local markets, guesthouses, and resorts. We trek from Jomsom through the region’s rugged landscape to Kagbeni via the Kaligandaki canyon. Today’s trek is a brief one.
After leaving Kagbeni, we hike up to Ekalu Batti. From here, the trail splits into two directions: one heads to Muktinath and the other to Upper Mustang. We take the path to Muktinath. Muktinath is an important pilgrimage place in the Annapurna region. It is Lord Vishnu’s temple, and there is a monastery nearby. The temple is also a great place to take in the panoramic views of the Annapurna massif. Mountain views include Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Macchapucchre, and many other peaks. On our way to the temple, we see holy sites such as an eternal flame, a holy pond, 108 water spouts, and a monastic complex. Tonight, we spent our time at guesthouse in Muktinath.
Today, we descend from Muktinath and take a route that leads via Lupra. It is a lovely and intriguing trek that offers spectacular views of Dhaulagiri Himal and Nilgiri Himal. We descend to the Lupra River and enter Lupra Village. It is a remote village. After a few hours of walking, we arrive to Marpha, a picturesque village in the region known for its apple orchards. The settlement is primarily inhabited by members of the Thakali community. Tonight we are staying at a guesthouse in Marpha.
After a delicious breakfast at Marpha, we head to Ghasa. On our way to Kothethanti, we pass through several picturesque villages, including Lhobang and Larjung. We hike for several hours till we reach Kalapani. From here, we may enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna ranges. The trail continues to undulate up and down till it reaches Lete and Ghasa. Tonight, we stay at a guesthouse in Ghasa
From Ghasa, the trail leads to Kaligandaki Gorge, the world’s deepest gorge. It is located between the massive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks. As we proceed, we descend to the Rupchechhara waterfall before continuing on to Tatopani. Tatopani, as the name suggests, is a popular destination with natural hot springs. Tatopani’s natural hot water springs are ideal for taking a hot bath.
After breakfast in Tatopani, we follow a trail along the Kaligandaki River and pass a suspension bridge. After a while, we cross another suspension bridge over the river and descend to Durbin Danda. We then ascend to the settlement of Sikha. Sikha is a big settlement in the region, with stores and teahouses.
From Sikha, we follow a track that leads to Ghorepani via Chitre. We stroll through lovely towns, farmlands, and forests to Ghorepani. If you’re lucky enough to visit in the spring, you may witness the entire rhododendron forest bloom with colourful blossoms. Ghorepani is a picturesque Gurung village set against the stunning background of the Himalayas. It’s a wonderful pleasure to be in this community. Tonight, we stay at a guesthouse in Ghorepani.
We wake up early and hike up Poonhill to view the sunrise. The golden sun rays fall on the sparkling snow of the Annapurna range; it’s absolutely incredible. From Poonhill, we can immerse the amazing views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, Macchapucchre, Langtang Himal, Manaslu Himal, and many other mountains. Following a beautiful start to the day with breathtaking views of the mountains, we return to the hotel for breakfast before beginning our descent to Tikhedhunga.

We take a stroll along the Phewa Lake bank and spend some quality time rowing in the tranquil lake waters. In the evenings, we can relax in Pokhara’s restaurants and clubs. Excellent food, live music, and a calm atmosphere will keep you thrilled after such a long day of hiking.
Today, after breakfast at the hotel, we take a ride to return back to Kathmandu. We pursue the same picturesque trip along the Prithvi Highway to Kathmandu. When you arrive, we will transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Spend tonight at the Kathmandu hotel. In the evening, you’ll join the farewell dinner hosted by Hike Holiday Treks, where you’ll receive your achievement certificate in recognition of your tour journey.
One of our team members will meet you at the hotel around 3 hours before your flight time to drive you back to the airport. With hopes to see you again for another epic Himalayan adventure, we bid farewell and wish you safe travels ahead!
