The journey starts from Kathmandu and takes us to the bustling city of Pokhara. Along the way, we experience a bumpy and hustling ride but if you prefer, you can choose to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead. This will save you a day of travel and allow you to appreciate the stunning scenery of Fewa lake with the background of majestic Mt Machhapuchre and the vibrant atmosphere of Pokhara.
The Annapurna trek is a total distance of 120km, so we have to walk 7-10km per day. As for the beginner, you should be physically fit to walk around 5-6 km every day.
So, for the next day, we start our trek from Nayapul which is an hour’s drive. From Nayapul, our official hike begins as we head towards Tikhedhunga where we trek through the paddy fields along the Modi River to reach Ulleri and then to Ghorepani
The view of Annapurna massif from Ghorepani, including Tukuche, Dhampas, Nilgiri, Barash Sikhar, and Machhapuchre Dhaulagiri is unmissable. For the alternative trek we hike to Poonhill Viewpoint, we catch a glimpse of the magnificent sunrise and a jaw-dropping view of the mountain ranges.
After catching a glimpse of nature in Poonhill, we continued our trek to Tadapani. As we descended to Chhomrong village, which lies between the rhododendron forest and oak forest, we experienced the cultural richness of this Gurung settlement.
We trek through Sinuwa and Bamboo villages up to dovan, aswe passes through notable landmarks like Himalaya Hotel, Hinko cave before finally reaching Deurali. After trekking further up, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp before we reach our destination, Annapurna Base Camp where we enter the gate of Annapurna Sanctuary.
After reaching base camp, we descend down to bamboo and then to Jhinu Danda. At Jhinu Danda, we can enjoy the natural hot springs, which are very relaxing. Finally, we return back to Kathmandu.
While trekking at Annapurna Base Camp, you will pass through diverse terrain, observe traditional highland culture, and experience different climates. You will also catch spectacular views of the Annapurna range, Macchapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri.
The ABC Trek is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek because you walk inside the Annapurna Conservation area. Annapurna Sanctuary is home to diverse flora, fauna, and ethnic Gurung and Magar villages, and it sits surrounded by the Annapurna ranges.

On the second day, you head towards Pokhara via bus, enjoying the natural beauty of Nepal along the way. You will encounter giant hills, distant mountains, ever-flowing rivers, rural villages, and more. Upon arriving in Pokhara, you check into a hotel and took a short trip around the beautiful city.
Have an early breakfast and prepare for a long hike. Drive 90 minutes via Lumle to Nayapul. Trek towards Tikhedhunga via Birethanti. Enjoy the green bamboo forests, abundant rice fields, waterfalls, and countryside villages. Stay overnight at tea houses in Tikhedhunga.
Today, you will embark on a long day trek from Tikhedhunga. As you start your ascent, you will come across steep stone stairs after crossing a suspension bridge to reach Ulleri. Along the way, you will see lush terraced fields and rhododendron forests. As you continue your hike, you will be awestruck by the majestic views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Your day will end in the beautiful village of Ghorepani.
Wake up early for a short hike to the Poonhill viewpoint, where you can witness a stunning sunrise and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Annapurna massif. After that, descend to Ghorepani to have breakfast, before continuing your trek to Tadapani. On the way, you’ll pass through steep ridgelines and enchanting rhododendron forests.
Today, you will descend to the village of Chhomrong, where you will encounter the cultural traditions of the Gurung people. As you cross the suspension bridge, you will pass through lush rhododendron forests and crop fields. During your descent, you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South.
Admiring Chhomrong’s hospitality, you trail down to reach Dovan, where you trail down 2500 steep stone steps and cross Chhomrong Khola by a suspension bridge, following the ascending rocky trek to get to Sinuwa and hike more toward Kuldahar (2540m). After Kuldahar, you descend to the bamboo lodge settlement and ascend to Dovan.
Trek from Dovan follows a forest of drenched wood of emerald-green bamboo and rhododendrons, and a moist path leads to derail as you walk more toward the Himalayan hotel. After passing this landmark, you reach Hinku Cave. With further walking up, your day concludes by reaching Deurali.
Today is the day you will reach your awaited destination as you walk through the riverbed to reach Annapurna Sanctuary. As you walk closer to the Annapurna glacier, passing through Modi Khola, you will arrive at Machhapuchhre base camp, where you can have a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. After soaking yourself in this fantastic view, you will ascend for two more hours to reach Annapurna base camp. From there, you can have a 360° view of Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I-IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, Paungda Danda, and numerous other peaks ranging from 6000 to 8000m in elevation. You will enjoy gazing at all these beautiful snow-capped mountains and end your day at the base camp.
With beautiful memories, you bid farewell to the Annapurna base camp. As you leave your footprint there, you start your trek by dropping down the trail along the riverbed of Modi Khola to escape the Annapurna sanctuary. Our destination for the day will be bamboo; with a peaceful and calm atmosphere, we enjoy the surrounding scenario.
Today, we ascend down following the same path; the path gets steeper as we drop down toward Chhomrong via Khuldighar. We come across a sheep farm and enjoy the lush forest of oak rhododendrons and bamboo and the eye-catching village lifestyle. You reach Jhinu Danda. Jhinu Danda continuously attracts thousands of visitors. It is famous for its naturalhot spring,
where you can relax and enjoy the therapeutic warmth of natural hot springs after a long trek. You spend the night there.
As the end of the trek gets closer, with unforgettable memories and experiences, we head toward Pokhara by crossing suspension along the Modi River. By 3-hour drive, we reach Pokhara and night there.
Today marks the end of your journey as you take a bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Along the way, you will witness breathtaking natural scenery. Once you reach Kathmandu, rest for a while in the hotel and head to the city’s core area to buy souvenirs and have dinner. Finally, you can end your day by resting in the hotel.

Lately, there has been extensive road construction (KATHMANDU TO POKHARA )on Prithvi Highway, causing traffic congestion and air pollution. The journey that used to take around 6-7 hours now takes roughly 8-9 hours. We appreciate your patience.
The fourteen-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a once-in-a-lifetime hiking experience that will provide you with an abundance of unfathomable natural beauty. On your second day of this 14-day itinerary, you will travel around 200 kilometers from Kathmandu to reach one of Nepal’s lovely cities, Pokhara.
You will start your trek from Nayapul in this Annapurna Base Camp Trek for 14 days journey. To reach one of Nepal’s popular viewpoints, Poon Hill Viewpoint, you have to trek about 13.4 kilometers from Nayapul. Similarly, you will be covering roughly a total of 23.4 kilometers from Poon Hill to reach the most anticipated destination of this entire journey, Annapurna Base Camp.
As for the elevation, the lower elevation that you will be traveling is at Pokhara, which is at only 822 meters. You will trek to Tikhedhunga from Nayapul on your first day of hiking, which is at 1495 meters above sea level. When you hike above three thousand meters, the level of air gets thinner and thinner with less amount of oxygen when you climb higher and higher. Although there are not any acclimatization days in this itinerary, we stay overnight at different places with different levels of altitude each day to prevent altitude sickness.
You can know the symptoms of altitude sickness in your body by yourself when you feel like vomiting, headache, nausea, trouble breathing, reduced performance and coordination, lightheadedness, and many more as you ascend in the mountains.
If not treated well, it can lead to serious conditions like high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE) and high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE), which can severely affect your organs in your body. So, your main task will be informing us immediately if you have any sort of symptoms while ascending so that our guide can help you and ease your conditions.
In this Annapurna Base Camp Trek for 14-day itinerary journey, the average hike per day will be about 5 hours on a daily basis. You need to walk for ten days straight, staring from day 3 to ending on day 12. As this is a moderate-level difficulty trek, you need to walk on steep ascents, which can be hard and demanding.
The minimum trek per day will be on your third day of this journey when you start your hiking trip from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga, which takes about 4 hours only. In contrast to this, the maximum hike per day will be on the fourth day of your itinerary, taking almost 7 hours when you trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani Village.

From Tikhedhunga to Jhinu Danda villages, you will be accommodated in twin-shared teahouses or lodges while you are trekking.
You will get all the essential facilities while you are staying in 3-star category hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara without any extra costs. However, the facilities will be minimal, providing beds, blankets, cushions, etc. for the trekkers while spending the night. You have to pay extra cash for the Wi-Fi and electricity if you want to use them in some teahouses due to their location in high elevations.
As a matter of fact, you will be compelled to share your rooms with other hikers in the peak trekking season of Nepal due to the limited availability of teahouses in the higher altitudes. But you don’t have to worry about this because you will be sharing with friendly people who value your privacy and security.
You can find all the variety of foods according to your choices and suggestions when you are in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Likewise, food options can be limited on high altitudes, but some teahouses also offer a wide range of dishes such as daal, bhat and tarkari, potatoes, rotis (flatbread), noodles, momos, vegetable soups, oatmeal, and many others.
These teahouses serve clean and fresh foods that help to build your health while trekking. You will be eating full board meals with tea or coffee during hiking, which are already included in the Annapurna Base Camp Trek for 14 days package. But the meals that are not specified in our package, you need to pay for yourself.
Lastly, all sorts of drinks, like cold drinks, hard drinks, local alcohols, etc., are not included in these packages. We also don’t want to drink such liquids that can directly affect your well-being while trekking. So, it is better you only drink clean water and soups to stay hydrated and healthy.

If you want to travel Annapurna Base Camp Trek for 14 days, then you must get two permits after arriving in Nepal, namely the Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) Card and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). ACAP will cost you around 26 dollars, which is about 3000 Nepalese rupees. But if you are from SAARC countries, you only have to pay 9 dollars or 1000 Nepalese rupees.
